Pupil Premium (including Catch-Up Premium)

Pupil Premium is extra funding that is allocated to schools for children who are eligible for FSM (free school meals), CLA (children looked after) and children whose parent(s) serve in the armed forces. The school received £15,420 for 2019-20, £11, 815 for 2020-21 and £14, 305 for 2021-2022.  Financial support is made available to develop pupil aspirations and their ability in wider areas of the curriculum such as arts and music.  All Pupil Premium children are supported financially to ensure they have full opportunity to take part in all school activities where a cost is required. This includes support to attend residential, educational day visits, breakfast and after school clubs, as well as musical instrument lessons. Funding also goes towards continued delivery of specific intervention support in small group and individual one to one intervention. Additional professional advice and support has also been purchased. We ensure that children who qualify for Pupil Premium have their needs clearly identified and their progress is closely monitored by the school.

If your child does not have FSM but may be eligible because of your family’s income level, please contact the office (in confidence) to register them.  Even if you do not wish them to have the meals, this would mean the school could still claim Pupil Premium funding that would be used to help your child. Please note: No child is singled out for receiving PPG and the children are totally unaware of who receives this additional funding.

CATCH UP PREMIUM 2021-2022

These are the key actions that we have taken in using the catch up funding. Some of the below will also come from our core funding.

School allocation – 2021 – 2022 £4260.00

Teaching actions and targeted strategies

Teachers have assessed children and identified gaps in learning and the children who have the biggest gaps in English Reading, Writing and maths.

Teachers have used Teaching Assistants to target individuals and small groups for structured interventions and to reinforce work covered in the classroom.

This will involve committing additional TA hours to support this in KS1 & KS2 (10 hours approximately in total).

We have also identified groups of children who need additional PSHE input to meet social and emotional needs.

Resourcing.

We have targeted funding to further support remote learning.

We have updated laptops to ensure they are able to support remote learning.

We have subscribed to Discovery Education, Twinkle and Clicker to aid and support children.

We will not be accessing the national Tutoring Programme. We have chosen to use staff that the children and parents know and who share our ethos and knowledge of hour the children learn.
