At Ingoldisthorpe Church of England Primary School we fully support and apply a policy of full inclusion. Where necessary we will make required adjustments both to the fabric of our building, our curriculum and our levels of support to ensure all pupils have an opportunity for a fully inclusive education with unique and equal opportunities.
Our teachers and teaching assistants have taken part in a range of training concerning Special Educational Needs and we are privileged to have a wide knowledge base and expertise. The school has worked with a range of external specialists concerning specific special needs and developed resources and links to support learners with Special Educational Needs.
All classrooms and the main school hall are wheelchair accessible and the school complies with the government's accessibility regulations. Our log cabin classrooms have great acoustics and the site ensures access for all. For children with an EHCP (Educational Health and Care Plan), we ensure their specific needs are met through quality first teaching and the provision of high quality resources, with may include 1:1 or group support. This is highlighted in our SEN Policy and our SEND report. We maintain high standards of teaching for all children with a variety of needs, using differentiation as standard to ensure academic progress for all learners.
Our SEND coordinator is Mrs Amy Taylor.
