Supporting children with special Educational Needs and Disabilities
At Ingoldisthorpe Church of England Primary School we fully support and apply a policy of full inclusion. Where necessary we will make required adjustments both to the fabric of our building and our curriculum and support to ensure all pupils have an opportunity for a fully inclusive education with opportunities. Our teachers and teaching assistants have taken part in a range of training concerning Special Educational Needs. The school has worked with a range of external specialists concerning specific special needs. Our log cabin classrooms have great acoustics. All classrooms have wheelchair access and the school complies with the government's accessibility regulations. For children with an Educational Statement or and Individual Education Programme, we ensure their specific needs are met through the provision of resources, 1:1 or group support. This is highlighted in our SEN Policy. We maintain high standards of teaching for all children with a variety of needs. Our SEND coordinator is Mrs Sarah Hall. Our SEN-D Information Report can be read here.
